U.S. Hwy. 67, 4.5 miles north of Bonne Terre. The trailhead is located approximately
1.5 miles from the park entrance on the main park road.

Lake Wappapello State Park

From Hwy. 67, take Hwy. 172 for eight miles to park entrance. Trailhead access road is the first road on the left. This trail connects to the Ozark Trail, Wappapello Lake Section and to the University Forest Conservation Area Trails. Approximately 100 miles of equestrian trail are accessible from this trailhead.

From Hwy. 34, take Hwy. 143 north of Patterson to the park. May be accessed from the equestrian camp or the day-use trailhead on the west side of Hwy. 143.

Pee-Wah Trail (Trail of Tears State Park)

From the Trail of Tears State Park entrance on Hwy. 177, take Moccasin Springs Road to Hill Road to Overlook Road. Turn right onto Overlook Road. Trailhead #1 is located on the left just before the gate and trailhead #2 is on the left about .5 mile.

North of Jackson, take I-55 exit 105 to Hwy. 61, travel north for eight miles, east on Route CC for five miles, south on County Road 525 for one mile, left on gravel road to horse trailer parking lot.

From Fredricktown, take Hwy. 67 south for 30 miles, east on Hwy. 34 for 15 miles, south on Route Y until the pavement ends, then continue .5 mile on the gravel road to horse trail parking lot.

Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park

From Farmington, take Hwy. W towards Doe Run. Go 17 miles on Hwy. W. At the intersection of Hwys. 21 and W, turn right on Hwy. 21 North. Go one mile, turn left on Hwy. N, go 13 miles, turn right on Hwy. MM, go two miles and turn left into the trailhead parking lot.

Bell Mountain Wilderness Trail

Three trailheads: Ottery Creek Trailhead - located approximately five miles south of Hwy. 32 on Hwy. A. Truck Trail #12 Trailhead - located approximately two miles east of Hwy. A on Forest Road 2228. Lindsey Mountain Trailhead - accessed by traveling approximately five miles east of Hwy. A on Forest Road 2228 and then south on Forest Road 2359 to the end of the road.

Ozark Trail (Trace Creek Section)

Two trailheads: Hazel Creek Campground - take Hwy. 21 south of Potosi, then go west on Hwy. C to Hwy. Z for approximately two miles, then west on Forest Service Road 2408 to the campground. Ottery Creek Trailhead - five miles south of Hwy. 32 on Hwy.

Ozark Trail (Karkaghne Section)

From Centerville, take Hwy. 21 north approximately three miles, turn left on FR 2233, follow approximately six miles, turn left onto Forest Service Road 2236 approximately three miles, go past Sutton Bluff Camp, cross the low water bridge, up the hill to the parking area. Horses are not allowed in Sutton Bluff Campground except in trailers.

Ozark Trail (Blair Creek Section)

Hwy. 72 south of Bunker to junction of Hwy. P. Trailhead is on east side of Hwy. P shortly after junction. The Blair Creek Section is open for equestrian use for 8.5 miles south of Hwy. P. Beyond that point, the trail enters private property and Missouri Department of Conservation property and is not open to equestrian use.
